Heaven the Axe’s lead singer, Phoebe Pinnock, compares listening to their music to a ride on The Zipper at the Wagga Show – mean, wild, dangerous and a whole lot of fun.

You can help them reach their next musical milestone by downloading their music for free and praying to the gods of the moshpit.

Heaven the Axe worked for television programs Housos, Bogan Hunters and Fat Pizza last year having written the theme song to Bogan Hunters on 7mate and had their music used throughout all productions on the soundtracks.

“It was a really cool experience to get to write theme tunes for some of our favourite television characters,” Ms Pinnock said.

“We are a close-knit, crazy, passionate group of people being unstoppable at living our dreams for music”.

And that vision has not stopped for the Wagga born and raised Ms Pinnock and her husband and band member, Steve Watts.

The two met in Wagga and have reached many personal and musical milestones together.

They are looking to reach another one this year by landing a gig at Soundwave Festival.

Metal bands were given the chance to upload their songs to the Triple J Unearthed website and the most listened to, rated and downloaded song will give its band the chance to play at the festival.

Heaven the Axe’s song Good Things Come To Those Who Hate is currently at number two on the metal chart and number 22 overall.

The band is asking Wagga residents to get behind a song that was written in Wagga for a band whose roots are firmly cemented in this city.

“I like to think Steve and I met in Wagga for a reason, that our musical connection is based on an everyday magic and this would just be another chapter and another reason to be humbled by the support of our community,” Ms Pinnock said.

Heaven the Axe members are currently writing and rehearsing their new album and will play at Hammersonic Festival in Indonesia in March with Lamb of God, The Faceless, Unearth and Warbinger.
